Hexham Farmers’ Market is a twice monthly farmers’ market based in the historic market town of Hexham in Northumberland. Our aim is to offer our customers a wide range of fresh, locally produced foods of a high quality and at a fair price.

You’ll find a wide range of meats, vegetables, breads and pies, soups, jams and pickles, cakes and beers and many other products.

All our products are produced within 50 miles of Hexham and you will always find someone on the stall who can tell you about the product they’re selling. After all, they are the producers of the foods and are passionate about what they do.

Our products change through the seasons and we celebrate that seasonality.  If you want to keep in touch and get up to date information of what's going on, you can 'like' us on Facebook. We've promised a voucher to the 50th person to like our page!

Hexham Farmers' Market 12 May

Customers to Hexham Farmers' Market will have an opportunity to get started on a summer competition to grow the heaviest pumpkin when they visit the market on Saturday 12 April 2012.  Working with Transition Tynedale the market organisers hope that lots of people will have a go at growing their own pumpkin and bring it back to the market in October, just in time for Halloween. There will be a prize for the heaviest pumpkin.

Farmers' Markets are all about locally produced foods and the transition movement is concerned with creating more resilient local communities.  The   competition aims to show people in a fun way that we can grow lots of thing in Tynedale.  Most of the foods people need on a regular basis can be grown locally and one of the best places to buy those is at the farmers' market.  The variety of pumpkin chosen is Connecticut Field which the traditional lantern pumpkin and which should provide seeds which people can use for future years too.

In addition to start of the pumpkin competition the farmers' market will welcome new bread producers Nigel Wild and Andy Smith who are trying the farmers' market in Hexham for the first time. They produce a fantastic range of loaves.

Music will come from 'Down in the Attic', one of the traditional music bands based at the Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham. They'll also be appearing at the Hexham Gathering later in the month and are using this Saturday to get some practice of playing out in the open air.
