Eric and Dianne Horn farm Slackhouse Farm near Gilsland, just over the border in Cumbria. They keep a herd of Ayrshire cows in the shadow of Hadrian’s Wall and with the sweet Ayrshire milk they produce Birdoswald Cheese, cream cheese and yoghurt. The farm is Soil Association registered Organic and the cheese and the milk they sell is unpasteurised.
