** NEW FOR AUTUMN 2026 **
During Autumn 2026 we are trialing a new online version of the farmers’ market, Tynedale Local Food, with many of the same products coming from the same and similar local producers, all from within 50 miles of Hexham.
Tynedale Local Food allows you to order online, from the comfort of your own home and your order will be ready to pick up from a local community near you a few days later.
One of the distinguishing features is that the producers set the prices they need to charge for their products to make a reasonable return. To make the platform work we will add a mark-up of 20% so you will always know how much goes to the producers and how much is used for running the system.
This Autumn we are planning three order cycles:
- September- October– online Shop opens for orders on 1 October and closes on 8 October. Delivery will be in the week beginning 12 October.
- October- November– online shop opens for orders on 23 October and closes on 11 November. Delivery will be in the week beginning Monday 16 November
- November- December– online shop opens for orders on 20th November and closes on 16 December. Delivery will be in the week beginning Monday 21st.
In the first instance there will be pick-up points in Hexham, Haydon Bridge, Humshaugh, Newbrough, Prudhoe and Ovington and your order will be picked and delivered by people from the Hextol Foundation, so the project is supporting a local social enterprise too.
