Judged to be England’s favourite market town by Country Life magazine, the setting for the market is in the heart of the town where the Abbey stands as a majestic backdrop.
There have been markets here since 1222. Hexham, set in the Tyne valley, close to Hadrian`s Wall, is the main market town for the district featuring excellent shopping, arts and leisure facilities.
The market place is easily accessible from nearby car parks, railway station and bus stops. There are numerous coffee shops and places for lunch nearby.
